In the Bible, Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery. He went to jail, and within a short time, ran the jail, and eventually ran the Egyptian Empire.

Years later, Joseph’s leadership helped save the entire nation of Egypt from starvation. When his family came to Egypt (thinking he was in slavery or dead), he was right there and saved them from starvation as well.

The moral of the story is this: You can overcome any evil thing that’s been done to you. Joseph couldn’t undo his time as a slave, or his time in prison, but he would have never had the opportunities he had without it.

What some mean for evil, God means for good. No matter how bad, bleak or painful your current situation or past is, know that God has ordered these things for good. Take some time to grieve, but don’t spend the rest of your life in self pity. Put your trust in God and that he has an EXPECTED END in mind. And it’s a good one.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
