‘Twas the night before Trumpmas when all through the house
Nobody was sleeping, they wanted him out
The air horns were out beside red caps and pins
In hopes that The Donald would soon be sworn in
“Don’t Vote for Hillary”
Original song by Joe Love
In the style of “Don’t stand so close to me” by The Police.
In a rare show of solidarity, the measure was approved almost unanimously in both the house and senate. The Governor signed the bill with little fanfare, and the new song is now official. We must admit that we’re a little sad to see the old “Oklahoma” go, but I think you’ll recognize this tune as much as you did the old state song.
Oh beautiful for scary skies
For endless waves of rain
For lightning bolts and thunderclaps
I tried to sleep in vain
On Norman town, oh Norman town
Whatever shall we do?
We can’t afford to drain this rain
Unless we tax it too
